Interior Home Tour

It’s been awhile! Months, actually. I haven’t shared content because honestly, 2020 hit the ground running and well, here we are! While we’re all spending a lot of time at home these days, I wanted to share the space we call home in this little tour.

Our house was built in the 1950s, and is a cape cod and sits on a little lake in South Jersey. When we bought the house in 2017, almost every room had an accent wall of color. We decided to paint every room white - so happy we did this. It brightened every room and freshened everything. Thankfully, it did not need any major construction so the interior was mainly cosmetic changes and paint.

It is definitely true when people  say “it takes time” to get things the way you want them. We’ve learned to embrace this and not put nearly as much pressure on ourselves with getting everything just right. The interior of the house is definitely at a point where we feel relaxed and cozy. Take a peek!

Living Room

One of the biggest sellers for us was the original hardwood floors and windows throughout the house. This room didn’t need a ton of work and was originally painted a light blue and gray. It is right off of our kitchen and definitely a lounge spot when company comes over.

Kitchen

This is where we spend a lot of our time sharing meals with others! The kitchen was pretty much set - we did replace the stove, painted and changed out the sconces on the wall. It was a bonus to have a backsplash already installed, and since kitchen renovations can get pricey quickly, we opted to hold off on doing anything else major to this space.

Master Bedroom

The house technically has three bedrooms - two on the main level and one upstairs. The room upstairs is more of an attic/loft that was transformed into a bedroom. We use this as a guest room when company comes over.

I’d love to get a few more things hung on the walls in our room but still looking for just the right pieces.

Office

The smaller bedroom of the two, we transformed this into our office space for studying and working on projects. There are still a few things we’re going to add in this room, but love that it’s a little nook for us to work.

Bathroom

This was our biggest interior project after purchasing the house. It did not look like this! You can see the before and after here. Since we’ve changed out a ton of things - it’s definitely more functional and way more our style.

Hope you enjoyed this little home tour and are inspired to create something fresh in your own space. Thanks for following along! If you’d like to know where anything is from, comment below and I will do my best to supply links!
