Our Bathroom: The Plan
Hey there - hope your Monday is going well! I’m still processing the fact that Matt matched into residency and we aren’t waiting another few months to find out details, it’s all been super exciting (more to come on the process, how we found out, and more!)
Since we’ll be able to stay in our home for the duration of Matt’s residency, I’m so excited to pour energy into projects and making this space more of our style! Our house is a cape-cod, and relatively on the smaller side. We only have one bathroom and that is the one room I really wanted to focus on if we were going to be in the house longer than this year.
Currently, our bathroom is pretty plain and a little outdated (to me, at least!). I love having natural light and that was one of the biggest sellers for our home, there are windows in every room except the bathroom. The previous owners covered up the window and tiled over it which would have been in the shower.
While we aren’t planning a full remodel right now, I am planning to work with what we have until we are able to re-tile the floor and shower. I tend to put together a mood board when planning a project to visually see elements mapped out and change as needed.
I don’t necessarily have a specific “style” - but trying to work in elements that exist in our house already: black hardware, brass accents, and natural colored flooring. Here’s the vision that we’re working with:
The bathroom is currently various shades of off white, so I’m going to give it a fresh white, opt for a sleeker vanity and paint that a deep green (as soon as I decided on the right green!). We’re also planning on updating the light fixture and changing all the hardware. I’m still sourcing a few items but planning to get started in the next couple weeks!
I’ll share before + after photos once we get going - looking forward to getting this project started!
All my love,
D
