Our Living Room: Progress

We are so ready for a long weekend. This is the first weekend Matt is home in about three months, so we’re our plans are to pretty much hang out right at home! We’re always trying to work on little things in the house when we get the chance, so we thought we’d share our living room as it currently is and some plans for the future.

When we bought the house, there were many accent walls with different colors. Many of them were a shade of light or dark blue, including the living room. We ended up painting the entire downstairs (kitchen, bedrooms, and living room) Benjamin Moore’s Simply White. After reading so many reviews, it was the best mix to not be too warm or too cool shade of white.

Our couch came with a chaise cushion initially but once we got things setup, we opted to get an additional cushion so that it wouldn’t take up so much room. We’re loving having more of an open space in the living room. It took us so long to settle on an area rug but this one turned out great from Overstock - it’s super soft and has tassel details on the ends. We found our recliner at HomeGoods one day and for the price, we had to snag it! Our prints above the chair were a vintage find in one of our local shops.
