The Story Behind the Name

Why “Dove + Feather”? If you’ve poked around a little bit, you may have seen on our about page, a verse from Psalm 91. It’s one that this blog was birthed from. That verse has carried us through our entire journey as Matt walks through medical school. It reminded us that God’s promises are faithful in all seasons and He will always provide protection to see His work come to completion. As I read these verses, I knew that it was speaking volumes. Maybe not even to us, but to someone else who may need the encouragement or know that they aren’t walking through their journey alone.

We paired this with the word “dove” simply for its representation of peace and the overwhelming peace we’ve felt in the midst of chaos at times. The thought of protection and faithfulness coupled with peace is our vision for this space as we share our journey. We hope that you’ll find freedom in the things that bring you the most joy.
