Master Bedroom Redesign

Our bedroom is the one room in our house that still echoed when you spoke because there was hardly anything in it. So, Matt had a little time off last week and we decided to do a one-day mini renovation of our room. Super happy with the way it turned out and it’s my current favorite spot in the house.

what we did

Thankfully, we had painted right when we moved in back in 2017 so the walls were ready to have things added to them. Quick overview of what we changed/added:

  • There were never real curtains, so we added in these rods from Anthropologie and they are a perfect mix of modern and texture to bring in the basket wall above the bed. We opted for a more sheer curtain to give the room a relaxed feel. Two panels were only $20 from Target!

  • We changed the bed frame to this one and super happy with the contrast it added to the room.

  • Hung framed prints that we’ve had forever and got one of our wedding prints in black and white to go above the dresser.

  • Added mirrors! Both mirrors (brass and black full length) are from Target. I initially thought that two mirrors in the room would be strange, but it worked out so well on opposite walls. We’ve had our full length mirror for some time but Matt was never a fan of it hanging on the back of our door.

  • Moved our fiddle leaf plant from the living room to the corner in our room. It fits so much better, but now need another plant for the living room 🙃

BASKET WALL

The three larger ones were through a local online flea and the smaller ones I found at a thrift shop. I ended up spray painting one of them flat black to blend with the rest of the room. Since they were all local finds, I don’t have direct links but I’ve linked some other basket wall options if you’re interested in creating your own!

next things

We’re still planning on swapping out the hardware on our dresser, but it’s backordered until November and didn’t want that to hold up showing the progress we made! Also waiting on a macrame planter to arrive from Etsy and a small tray for the top of the dresser. If you have any suggestions on keeping the top of a dresser clear, I’m all ears! We’re also getting roman shades for the windows. But for now, that’s a wrap on our little one-day renovation project. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions on anything!
