Outdoor Space: The Reveal

We’ve been hard at work finishing up the outdoor space and are excited to finally share the reveal with you! This space was initially just grass but we laid out a vision and are so excited to see if come to life. You can catch the full plan here! I snagged these photos just around golden hour and love the way everything turned out!

The shed was placed first in the order of things so we used that as our main base and mapped everything out with marking paint. The decking was set and then we lined out the rest of the space. Once we finished that, Matt edged the sides with metal edging and then we were able to begin the area with the large pavers. This part was the most time consuming. We had to dig out the grass area and level the ground before adding in the stone and pavers.

After adding in some stone as the base, we leveled all of the pavers with each other and back filled the spaces with more stone so that it was flush with the top of each paver. This definitely took us the longest since each paver weighed 80 lbs. and took some time to ensure each were leveled. Once the main base was set, we were able to focus on all the little decor details to make the space our own!

We love eating and lounging outside so wanted to create a cohesive space that would be cozy and inviting. We opted for a dining table and chairs (similar) for when we’re eating outside and lounge area to hangout. A lot of items were sourced from from CB2, Target, AllModern and World Market. We will be hanging string lights above the space and getting a shade sail to block some of the bright afternoon sunlight that shines in. Overall, we’re thrilled with how it turned out and can’t wait to host family and friends in this new space!
