The Catskills

Matt and I love taking little trips, so any chance we get, we try getting to places on our travel list. Since Matt’s schedule is always packed, we have to be intentional about creating down time. We had the chance to go to the Catskills in upstate New York and it was amazing!

We booked a room at Foxfire Mountain House - which we patiently waited months for! Every inch of Foxfire is touched with detail. No two rooms are the same, plank walls, hardwood floors, schoolhouse sinks, macrame above the bed, and carefully selected textiles make the place so unique. It is a DREAM. We had our eye on it for awhile and since they book so quickly, we were stoked when we got a reservation!

We decided to have dinner in the bar room (located just downstairs of the inn) and enjoyed lounging by the fire. Times like these are vital for us. We believe in nurturing our relationship as a couple and it often leads us to a place of new vision, refreshment and a time to be still without extra distractions.

We had a few places in mind for the next day so we checked out and made our way to the Kingston, NY. When in a new place, we like to keep an eye out for a detail that we could place in our home one day. Our first stop was Hops Petunia - the cutest floral shop where we picked up some vases and a bouquet. Directly next door was Clove + Creek which had different home textiles, and espresso!
